It’s Friday night. I’m home from Curves. I’m ready for bed.
The group at the jail this morning was difficult. I did the same material that I used on Thursday in Sandusky and it was received very well and with enthusiasm. Today the group was bored and hard to keep on task. Why the difference? One of the major differences is that the group on Thursday is desperate to work. The group in the jail isn’t ready…isn’t desperate enough. Their time will come.
The afternoon meeting went really well. In Dan’s first meeting with the gentleman, his anger and frustration was very apparent so we anticipated addressing this. We planned for me to push him and see how he handled being provoked and feeling defensive.
Today he presented very differently. I pressed him quickly about his resume. There were multiple concerns. He seemed open to my critique. Then we did mock interview questions based on two jobs that he’s interested in and has applied for. I asked the questions and Dan taped his responses. We gave him lots and lots of feedback. It was a really good experience.
After the meeting Dan, Bob, and I moved the meeting to Don Pablos’. We shared a appetizer sampler and talked a lot. It was a nice afternoon.
And now I’m ready for bed. Until tomorrow.
Nothing is wasted. My life is often messy: sometimes because of choices I've made and sometimes becuase life is just messy at times. No matter how the mess comes, one thing remains true: out of the mess comes my message.

- I am 54 years old. I have been married for 32 years to one of the most incredible men on the face of the planet. Our journey hasn't been easy, but it's been rich in love, forgiveness, joy, and adventure. I'm learning daily that God really does have a plan for my life. I want to live into whatever that means...however it unfolds. I'm an ESFP with a healthy dose of ADD...I love to help people see how very incredible they are and how much love God wants to lavish on them!
